FreeDocumentTranslator was built around a simple frustration: translating a document shouldn't destroy it. Copy-pasting a PDF into a text translator loses headings, tables, images and layout, and rebuilding all of that by hand can take longer than the translation itself.
Our service translates complete documents (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Apple Pages, Keynote, Numbers, OpenDocument, RTF, CSV, HTML, LaTeX, Markdown and plain text) into more than 60 languages while keeping the document's structure intact. There are three modes on every plan: Smart Mode rebuilds your document into a clean, readable translation; Original Layout reproduces the source design exactly (fonts, sizes, positions and columns); and AI Summary turns a document into tidy study notes with its key points and images. An optional Simple Words setting translates using plain, everyday language.
Built for Indian languages first
We put special care into Indic scripts: Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi and Urdu render correctly with proper fonts (something most generic tools get wrong), alongside all major international languages.
How it runs
Translation runs on Amazon Web Services using AI language models on Amazon Bedrock, with files processed in parallel for speed and automatically deleted after a short retention window. We never sell your data, and your documents are never used to train AI models.
FreeDocumentTranslator is independently built and operated. Questions or feedback? We'd love to hear from you on the contact page.
